I had a slight ASOS splurge the other day and one piece that I absolutely love is this Primark Wallpaper Print Midi Dress, which is just £10!
When I first opened the parcel, I have to admit the colours looked a lot brighter than they seem online, and maybe not quite to my taste. But, I thought what better time to ‘pull off’ such a brightly coloured number than when I’ve got a bit of a suntan!
Once the dress was on, I absolutely loved it. So glad I didn’t give up on it when it was in the packaging!
The dress fabric itself has such a gorgeous stretch to it that it fits perfectly around my curves and sits just above the knee. I’ve not worn a midi before. This style I feel has only really become so popular in the last 18 months or so, and in that time, I’ve been losing baby weight, so I am so pleased to be confident enough to wear something that is so figure hugging!
I chose to accessorise my wallpaper print midi with simple black heels, a black clutch, my coral watch and an ‘up-do‘.
My black clutch is from Dorothy Perkins. I’ve had it for a little while and simply adore it, as it’s a great size for me to fit in my phone, makeup, purse etc. I love it. I also really like the slightly 20’s scalloped edge to it. Kinda retro!
Black accessories I felt were the best way to go with this outfit and I think you’ll agree that the black clutch looks stunning against all the vibrant dress colours.
My coral watch is simply my favourite accessory I’ve bought so far this summer! I absolutely love it and have worn it so much since I bought it at the end of June. I bought it from The Range for just £5! Insane! On this occasion, it goes amazingly with the dress, like it was made with this midi in mind!
I chose not to wear any other jewellery as I wanted to let the dress pattern speak for itself. I felt that I would only be cluttering the outfit if I added earrings, bracelets or a necklace. Sometimes less is definitely more!
I wanted to keep my hairstyle quite simple and struggled between wearing my hair long and wavy or up in a bun and the bun won! I decided that this gave the overall look a little class and took my hair off of my face, allowing me to create a really striking makeup look to go with it. (My makeup isn’t done in these image btw!) I took some pics of my makeup that night, so I’ll post these separately.
The shoes I wore were black velvet platform sole ones from New Look. Again, huge favourites of mine.
So this completed the look!
What do you think of this look? Have you bought any Primark clothes from ASOS lately?
