Step by Step Tuck and Roll Up-do

After seeing a cute image on Pinterest of a Tuck and Roll up-do, I thought I’d show you how easy it is to create this perfect summer style; ideal for covering root growth, taming stray hairs or simply the perfect hairstyle for those bad hair days!

Tuck & Roll up-do

This is a pretty easy style to achieve and took me 5-10 minutes. If you’re hair is fine, like mine, you might like to back-comb the roots a little and add some spray before you begin. This will help give the roll a little more volume and help it to stay in place.

So, for the Tuck and Roll up-do you will need a comb, some hair slides, a hair band, some hairspray and a lightweight scarf.

Tools for Tuck & Roll up-do

Step one

Gather your hair into a low, loose ponytail, place the scarf on the crown of your head and tie it at the back, base of your head, on top of the hair. Remove the hair band and spread hair out beneath the scarf. Any loose ends of the scarf can be wrapped around and behind the scarf itself.

Step two

Starting from one side, take a section of hair, about 1.5-2 inches wide and roll it around itself (this is especially helpful if your hair is long like mine) and then tuck it behind the scarf. Do the same for the other side, over the ears if you wish and tuck behind the scarf. Do the same for the remaining hair at the back of the head and finish by tucking away any stray ends.

Step three

Pin the hair into place and spray with some hairspray for extra hold.

And it’s that simple!

Tuck & Roll up-do

This is a really cute up-do and you can play about with the front to create lots of different looks, dependant on whether you have a side parting, no fringe, a blunt fringe or a side fringe. The options are endless!
