I’ve not explored the world of contouring and highlighting fully yet and by that I mean I’ve always just used various products knocking around in my makeup kit to create the desired effects. So, when I saw this little GOSH BB Skin Perfecting Kit, with it’s three different concealer shades, I thought I’d give it a go and if it didn’t work out, I would still have a really handy little concealer kit to use!
There are two different palettes with three different Light or Medium concealer shades. I opted for the Medium palette as my skin is quite olive naturally and I thought the darkest shade (no 3 above), would be best suited for the contouring.
In hindsight, I think I actually needed to buy both palettes, as the lightest shade, no 1, wasn’t as light when applied to my skin, as I needed it to be. I actually ended up using a lighter concealer from another one of my palettes. At £9.99 per palette, if I had bought both, it wouldn’t have made it such a bargain, so if I had been able to test the shades, I’m not sure I would have bought it…..
Anyway, shade no 3 was a great contouring shade for my skin type and when applied in the areas as shown above left, I felt that it did help to give definition to my face, especially on the sides of my forehead and cheekbones. I think next time however, I’ll be a little braver and apply more.
The look is quite subtle, but I think that these little palettes are a good choice for those who are starting to try this technique, who don’t want to break the bank with fancy palettes and would quite like a pocket sized kit to take out for top ups.
Have you tried this palette for contouring and highlighting? How did you find it?
