It’s been an exiting few days in our house, with the Christmas tree and decorations going up, a lot of Christmas shopping taking place and a visit to Father Christmas to look forward to!

We took little Grace to meet him last year at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, London and let’s put it this way, she wasn’t very impressed! With her being a year older and nearing two, we hoped that she might be a little more into it, so we booked our slot at Gwel an Mor in Cornwall.

Father Christmas and his reindeer have visited there are a few times and we’d heard good things from friends, so we were all pretty excited!

We arrived a little early and went to find where Father Christmas and his reindeer were and to let the elves know that we had arrived. We then had a little look around and Grace took a shine to Jesus in his manager and couldn’t help but hold his hand. So cute!

We then went into the gorgeous events barn, in the warm, to wait. They had lots of comfy seating and a bar, to drink hot chocolates etc whilst you waited.

Grace was ‘oo-ing’ and aa-ing’ at the Christmas trees and bunting that dressed the barn and overall seemed really up beat and excited about seeing Father Christmas! Then one of the elves came to find us and led us to the barn where Father Christmas was. We knocked on the door and an elf opened it, letting us in.

The barn was dressed like a living room, with fire, side board with Father Christmas crockery etc, a tree and of course, lots of presents. Father Christmas said hi to Grace and gave her a little parcel with her name on it, which was a really lovely touch.

At this point Grace did get a little upset, I think she was a little freaked out. Father Christmas is very tall, red and has a big white beard, so I wasn’t overly surprised! After chatting for a little bit, we moved through to see his reindeer and sleigh.

Grace had a little stroke of the reindeer and then couldn’t wait to climb into the sleigh, where we sat for a little while looking at the beautiful reindeer.

The experience really was lovely and although Grace did get a little freaked, there were moments when she was so happy! It was so sweet. I can’t wait to take her next year, when I’m sure it will be her year and she’ll love it all the more!

So excited for Christmas now; I’m such a big kid!
