It only seems right that my first post of the year is skin care related. After all, for a lot of us, including me, we’re likely to have indulged a little too much over the festive period and have quite possibly set ourselves a fitness or skincare goal for the coming twelve months. I’ve given myself both challenges, eeek!
So last year I finally started a skin care routine that I’ve been trying to desperately keep to ever since. Admittedly I’ve had a bit of a slip up lately and resorted to using face wipes; having a newborn and a toddler and very little sleep will do that to you! A wipe to remove my makeup and cleanse the face is all I’ve had time for lately, so I was intrigued to test out the YOSO Pro* and see whether it would help me improve my routine.
What YOSO Say
“This 3 Step Deep Cleansing system uses Ion technology to ensure that your skin is cleaner and fresher than ever before. The Ion technology works together with your body’s natural Ions to thoroughly cleanse and even out your skin tone. The smooth titanium head is extremely gentle on your skin, and the soft vibrations create an invigorating cleanse suitable for most skin types.”
So the idea of this little gadget is that the ion technology and gentle vibrations works with your bodys natural ions to cleanse and even out skin tone. Cool, sounds great!
The Yoso Pro is a really lovely size; fitting into the hand perfectly. It’s really light and has three buttons on the front for Mode (cleanse, moisturise and boost), level (low, medium and high) and on/off. The titanium plate itself is really smooth and the plate on the back that you must have contact with in order for the Yoso Pro to work, is also really smooth and easy to hold.
So when I first went to use it, I removed my makeup with my usual cleanser and added a cotton pad to the titanium plate, using one of the supplied plastic rings to hold it in place. You can apply product directly onto the titanium plate, but if it is quite runny, you’re better off applying it to a pad.
When using a cotton pad, I did find that I needed to press quite hard onto the skin in order for the connection to be made and the vibrations to start, so for me I found that applying product directly to the plate worked better.
The vibrating sensation is really nice! It feels like a gentle massage and who doesn’t love a facial massage! I moved the Yoso pro from the nose, out towards the ears and from the eyebrows up towards the hairline, as recommend in the manual. I really like the feeling it has on the skin and my skin certainly feels invigorated afterwards.
What Do I Think?
I really like how the Yoso Pro makes my skin feel. After a long day or a morning where you wake feeling groggy, giving my face a little massage, whilst cleansing and moisturising at the same time, is right up my street.
I like the fact that there are various modes to choose from, so you can use them all or just one, when it suits you and I like the difference in levels too. The higher the level you choose, the higher the strength, so when using it for the first time Yoso recommend using it on the ‘low’ setting, which is what I’ve used so far.
My only concern with the Yoso Pro is time. The process can take between 5-15 minutes per day, which to me seems a little time consuming. This gadget is designed to further enhance a current skincare routine which sounds fantastic, but it does your usual routine a fair bit longer and therefore I’m not entirely sure how regularly I’d want to use it (or have time to) and therefore how effective it would be for me personally.
As a person who dips in and out of skincare routines and can’t wait to fall into bed at night, I’m not sure how often I will use the Yoso Pro. With a product such as this, it also needs to be used for a length of time in order to see the real benefits, so I may well post again in a few months time to update on progress. Until then, I’m going to keep on using it as much as I can and see how I get on.
Overall the Yoso Pro is a fun product to use and certainly makes you feel like you’ve given your skin some love each day! So if you’re interested in trying it for yourself, check out the Beauty Crowd‘s guide. They’ve got everything you need to know before making a purchase.
So do you think you’d be interested in trying out this new ion technology? Or are you a bit like me and not sure whether adding another 5-15 mins to your skin care routine every morning is going to work for you?
